Powder Coat Helper
**Job Title: Powder Coat Helper** Job Description The Powder Coat Helper plays a crucial role in assisting the lead powder coater with the preparation and application of powder coatings to metal components used in snow and ice control equipment. The role involves prepping surfaces, handling materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities + Clean, sand, and mask metal parts prior to coating. + Inspect parts for defects or contaminants before painting. + Assist with loading and unloading parts onto the conveyor or racks. + Help operate powder coating equipment under supervision. + Monitor curing ovens and ensure proper handling of finished parts. + Follow safety protocols including PPE usage and ventilation procedures. + Maintain cleanliness of the powder booth and surrounding area. + Report any equipment issues or quality concerns to supervisors. + Label and organize coated parts for assembly or shipping. + Track work orders and ensure parts match job specifications. Essential Skills + Experience in manufacturing or industrial painting preferred. + Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods. + Basic understanding of safety procedures and coating processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Attention to detail for spotting defects or contaminants. + Ability to follow coating specifications and visual standards. + Basic measurement skills (e.g., using tape measures or gauges). + Experience with assembly, hand tools, blueprints, power tools, and mechanical processes. Work Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing plant with designated paint or powder coating booths. The environment may be noisy, with sounds from compressors, conveyors, and ventilation systems. The area can be warm or hot, especially near curing ovens. Ventilation systems are used, but there may still be exposure to fine powder particles or fumes. The role involves frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching—often for extended periods. Workers need to lift parts or racks weighing up to 50 lbs or more and handle metal parts that may have sharp edges. The position operates on a 1st shift: 5 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime on Saturdays from 5 am to 10 am, totaling 50-56 hours per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lindenwood, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
