CORE JOB SUMMARY
We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher to join NSF project FOCUS, investigating oceanic variability in Florida Straits and its influence on coastal sea level and flooding. The postdoc will work with a multi-year dataset of temperature, salinity, and geostrophic velocity from nine inverted echo-sounder moorings (CPIES) deployed across the Straits. Satellite and tide gauge observations will help relate processes in the Straits to local and regional climatic conditions. The postdoc will join research cruises and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students. Experience in processing and analyzing in situ ocean data in the context of geophysical dynamical processes is strongly desired. After applying, please send your resume and research statement to Lisa Beal, Ph.D at lbeal@miami.edu.
