We are seeking a Polisher and Buffer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for grinding, sanding, and polishing stainless welds used in pharmaceutical machines. This role requires the use of cloth, hand tools, and power tools to ensure a smooth surface finish, as well as the inspection of workpieces for flaws or cracks.

Responsibilities:

Grind, sand, clean, and polish objects or parts to correct defects or prepare surfaces for further finishing using hand tools and power tools such as polishing belts, disc grinders, and belt sanders.Clean workpieces or finished products and polish materials to ensure a smooth and defect-free surface.Smooth metal surfaces or edges and mark defects such as knotholes, cracks, and splits for repair.Mark products, workpieces, or equipment with identifying information.Operate grinding equipment by moving controls to adjust, start, or stop during processes.Select files or other abrasives according to materials, sizes, shapes, and required finishes.Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.Verify the quality of finished workpieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, measuring dimensions, or testing in machinery.Review blueprints or instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.

Essential Skills:

Experience in polishing, grinding, and metal finishing.Ability to read blueprints and inspect workpieces.Familiarity with hand tools and power tools, including polishing belts and grinders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

6 months to 1 year of experience with stainless steel is preferred.Courses in blueprint reading, shop mathematics, mechanical drawing, physics, chemistry, and metallurgy are helpful.An understanding of electricity and knowledge of computers is beneficial.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
