**Job Title: Polisher and Buffer** **Job Description** As a Polisher and Buffer, you will be responsible for grinding, sanding, and polishing stainless welds on pharmaceutical machines. Your expertise will ensure smooth surfaces using cloth, hand tools, and power tools. You will inspect for flaws or cracks, and polish materials or finished products. Your role will involve smoothing metal surfaces, marking defects for repair, and measuring dimensions to verify standards. **Responsibilities** + Grind, sand, and polish stainless welds using cloth, hand tools, and power tools. + Inspect welds for flaws or cracks. + Smooth metal surfaces or edges to ensure quality finishes. + Mark defects such as knotholes, cracks, and splits for repair. + Operate grinding equipment and adjust controls during processes. + Select files or abrasives based on materials and finishing requirements. + Measure and mark equipment or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met. + Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting, comparing to templates, and measuring dimensions. + Review blueprints or instructions to determine operational methods. **Essential Skills** + Experience in metal finishing and polishing. + Ability to read blueprints and perform inspections. + Proficiency with hand tools and power tools such as polishing belts, disc grinders, and belt sanders. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience of 6 months to 1 year with stainless steel preferred. + Courses in blueprint reading, shop mathematics, mechanical drawing, physics, chemistry, and metallurgy are helpful. + Understanding of electricity and knowledge of computers is beneficial. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a stable work environment with good benefits and opportunities for overtime. **Work Environment** You will work on a production floor within your own welding section, primarily with stainless steel. The facility is equipped with air conditioning. The role operates on a first shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boonton, New Jersey. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
