Polisher - 2nd Shift
Job Description An employer is looking for a Polisher to work onsite in McPherson, KS! The Polisher is responsible for the set-up and operation on a variety of machinery to produce a large assortment of parts or finishes often of a complex nature. Must apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics and machining procedures. Job Details: • Verify correct product using job traveler to set-up and operate a variety of machinery to blueprint specifications, reading part drawing with sectional views. • Achieve specified micro finishes; polish to form sharp corners, hold specified limits on I.D. using deburring tools with special cutters on a variety of production parts. • Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production. • Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor. • Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists to maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance. • Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts, recommend improvements for area product and processes. • Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments. • Interact professionally when interacting with customers and employees. • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
