Policy & Press Communications Manager, International Policy and Press Communications
Description The Internal and External Communications Lead for Amazon in Luxembourg is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that enhance employee engagement and strengthen the company’s corporate reputation. Working closely with the wider PR team, this role will involve preparing external media relations, public-facing events, and internal communication activities for Amazon’s European Headquarters. Key job responsibilities • Manage media relations in Luxembourg, fostering strong relationships with local journalists and media outlets, drafting and distributing press releases, coordinating interviews, and serving as a company spokesperson when appropriate to ensure accurate, positive, and value-aligned coverage. • Serve as the primary point of contact for media and corporate communications teams across other locations, addressing inquiries and providing accurate information about business activities at Amazon’s European Headquarters in Luxembourg. • Develop and execute proactive external communication campaigns to strengthen Amazon’s corporate reputation, highlight key business initiatives, and engage external audiences through strategic storytelling and targeted media outreach. • Develop internal communication strategies to align employees with the company’s culture and key business priorities. • Plan and organize internal events such as all-country meetings and employee engagement activities to foster Amazon’s culture and foster dialogue. • Design and implement internal communication campaigns that inform and engage employees—using channels like newsletters, intranet updates, and digital signage. • Collaborate with PXT and leadership teams to manage change communications, ensuring smooth rollout of new initiatives, policies, or organizational changes. • Monitor communication effectiveness through feedback tools, surveys, and analytics, and continuously improve content and delivery based on employee insights and engagement metrics. A day in the life • Partner with internal stakeholders such as the PR, PXT, employee-led groups, and leadership teams to plan and deliver clear, consistent communication that keeps employees informed, engaged, and aligned with Amazon’s business priorities. • Serve as the main contact for media in Luxembourg, managing proactive and reactive media queries to protect and enhance Amazon’s reputation. • Develop and manage daily communication content across internal (newsletters, intranet, and leadership updates) and external (press releases, statements, and event materials) channels to ensure timely, accurate, and audience-appropriate messaging. • Identify and solve communication challenges, such as resolving information gaps, addressing misconceptions in the media, improving message clarity, and strengthening employee understanding of key initiatives through data-driven feedback. About the team The International Policy and Press Communications (IPPC) team is part of the International Stores & Corporate Comms (ISCC) organization. ISCC is responsible for Amazon comms in 29 countries outside of the U.S. and China. It covers Stores, Corporate, Ads, Internal and Policy Comms, as well as Issues Management and About Amazon sites. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field - Experience in professional communications or public relations - Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels - Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Preferred Qualifications - Experience managing complex projects and/or programs within a matrix environment - Additional language skills (e.g. French, German, or Luxembourgish).
