Are you a detail-oriented, collaborative professional passionate about clinical excellence and program coordination? NVRH is seeking a dedicated Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Coordinator to support and advance our organization-wide POCUS program. In this role, you’ll ensure high-quality ultrasound workflows, maintain credentialing and compliance standards, and enhance POCUS use across multiple departments.
**About the Role**
As the POCUS Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in managing all operational, technical, educational, and quality components of NVRH’s Point-of-Care Ultrasound program. You’ll partner closely with the Chief Medical Officer, POCUS Educator, Information Services, Health Information Management, Finance, and clinical leaders to support safe, compliant, and effective use of ultrasound across the hospital.
**Key Responsibilities**
_Oversee POCUS Program Operations_
+ Maintain enterprise-wide POCUS exam storage, reporting systems, and data workflows.
+ Provide day-to-day technical and application-level support, including troubleshooting, archiving, and quality assurance.
_Manage Credentialing and Quality Standards_
+ Maintain standardized credentialing processes for non-radiology physicians seeking POCUS privileges.
+ Lead Quality Assurance activities for all departments utilizing POCUS.
_Support Education and Training_
+ Collaborate with the CMO and POCUS Educator to support training programs and promote POCUS competency across clinical teams.
_Ensure Billing and Compliance Accuracy_
+ Partner with HIM, Finance, and Patient Accounts to ensure coding, billing, and documentation align with CMS and national guidelines.
+ Participate in charge reconciliation, denials management, and revenue KPI monitoring.
_Lead Implementation and System Support_
+ Coordinate with IS and external vendors on POCUS system installations, upgrades, maintenance, and workflow optimization.
+ Provide project management support for POCUS initiatives and post‑implementation activities.
_Support Operational Excellence_
+ Develop and manage annual budgets for ultrasound equipment, service contracts, and educational resources.
+ Establish and maintain onboarding processes for new practices and providers.
+ Provide vendor quotes and research support for POCUS equipment selection.
_Report Program Outcomes_
+ Regularly report progress, opportunities, and challenges to the POCUS Committee and Chief Medical Officer.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred
+ Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
+ Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and work calmly under pressure.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to manage confidential information.
