Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Superintendent for a long-term opportunity with a mechanical subcontractor in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area. The successful candidate will report directly to the Construction Manager and will be responsible for overseeing heating, cooling controls, air handlers, and hydronics systems.
ResponsibilitiesManage field crew, materials, and equipment to ensure timely and proper completion of projects.Provide mentorship and technical skills to field staff.Collaborate directly with the Project Manager, Coordinator, BIM Designer, Fabrication Shop, and other team members.Manage on-site tools and equipment.Provide technical assistance in pipe fitting and plumbing.Ensure installations comply with applicable codes and regulations.Maintain paperwork such as Hazard Assessments, Short Interval Plans, Time sheets, Weekly Labour Reports, Daily Logs, Safety Forms, etc.Update drawings and project change orders.Essential SkillsUnderstanding of architectural drawings and controls.Knowledge of BC codes related to mechanical systems.Plumbing Ticket.5 years’ experience as a Superintendent managing a site.Experience managing projects over $5 million.Experience overseeing subcontractors with an understanding of plumbing, sheet metal, sprinkler, and controls.5 years’ experience with mechanical rooms.Valid driver's license.Commercial construction experience with buildings of 9+ stories.Ability to understand how components work together and their limitations.Additional Skills & QualificationsAdditional years of experience.Experience with district energy systems.Interest in long-term employment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The role involves working on construction sites in locations such as UBC, Downtown Vancouver, North Vancouver, and Surrey. Projects include an aquatic center, boiler plant, office towers, laboratory work, and a warehouse. Typical working hours are from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with potential for overtime. You will manage 4+ people on site plus subcontractors and may travel between various sites, reporting to the Construction Manager.
