Job Title: PLC Technician Job Description The role focuses on resolving emergency equipment breakdowns, conducting routine repair work, and performing preventative maintenance tasks. Daily responsibilities include responding to equipment failures, completing scheduled equipment servicing, inspections, documenting GMP procedures, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs, and identifying opportunities for improvements. Collaborate with operations to ensure equipment is in optimal condition, aiding in meeting production timelines and responding promptly to emergencies. Work closely with other departments on process improvements. Responsibilities + Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns swiftly and effectively. + Perform routine repair work and preventative maintenance tasks. + Conduct scheduled equipment servicing, lubrication, and inspections. + Complete GMP documentation accurately. + Program and troubleshoot PLCs. + Drive new opportunities for improvements in equipment and processes. + Assist operations in achieving production timelines by ensuring equipment reliability. + Collaborate with various department teams to implement process improvements. Essential Skills + Experience in GMP and FDA compliance. + Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting. + Knowledge in process engineering and preventive maintenance. + Understanding of continuous improvement and manufacturing processes. + Skills in electrical engineering and root cause analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Background in industrial manufacturing. + Experience in reliability engineering, validation, and validation protocols. + Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing and lean manufacturing principles. Work Environment The plant comprises approximately 150 employees, with a team size of around 10-15 people. The role does not involve direct work with maintenance mechanics, but close collaboration is required. Standard shifts are during the day, with occasional requirements to support night and weekend shifts as needed. The shift schedule may change as the plant expands. The position offers significant growth opportunities, including the potential to lead teams and initiatives throughout the plant. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Petersburg, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
