Plc Technician
Job Title: PLC TechnicianJob Description

As a PLC Technician, you will play a crucial role in programming and maintaining automated control systems at a leading manufacturing plant specializing in caulks, sealants, foam insulation, adhesives, and patch & repair products for both residential and commercial construction industries. You will be responsible for enhancing system efficiency, reliability, and safety by working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), motor drives, and other configurable electronics.

ResponsibilitiesImplement control systems for automated machinery and processes.Program and configure PLCs, particularly Micrologix, CompactLogix, using RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, and Studio 5000.Design and troubleshoot Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).Develop and implement hardware and software test plans.Develop and maintain SCADA systems, utilizing Ignition SCADA.Create and maintain detailed documentation for control systems and processes.Conduct system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.Integrate various automation systems and equipment to work seamlessly together.Manage control software backups and maintain a comprehensive repository.Map product lifecycle and obsolescence of automation and controls-related assets.Provide troubleshooting, problem analysis, and technical support for all automation and controls-related issues.
Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years of experience in automation and control systems.Proficiency in PLC programming and configuration, particularly with Studio 5000.Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, manufacturing processes, and safety standards.Experience in maintenance repair and industrial maintenance.Ability to read and understand schematics.
Additional Skills & QualificationsMust have PLC Troubleshooting/Programming Experience.Experience with Micrologix and CompactLogix PLCs.Capability to focus on 80% electrical versus 20% mechanical tasks.
Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled and may be dirty and loud. Shifts are available from Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with overtime required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $79000.00 - $87000.00/yr.
