Plating Technician

Paying $27 / HR to $37 / HR

Location - Wood Village, OR

Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor plating equipment and controlsManage water valves and verify tank liquid levelsMove and clean plating barrelsUse overhead crane to transfer parts between tanksMaintain timing and chemical levels per process instructionEnsure cleanliness of work area and plating equipmentLoad/unload barrels with parts (500–10,000 parts/barrel)Inspect plating quality and document resultsReport issues to plating leadsAdjust process times (e.g., acid: 2–10 min; black oxide: 15–35 min)Assist with chemical additions and tank maintenanceMaintain wastewater evaporator and general area cleanlinessLog parts in GS systemPerform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbsComfortable working with chemicals, fumes, and temperature variationsForklift certification or ability to operate material-handling equipmentConsistent use of PPE

Preferred Experience

Aerospace, defense, or firearms manufacturingNADCAP or similar plating certificationsEquipment Experience (Preferred):CranePlating barrelsSandblasterSpin dryerWastewater evaporatorPumps and exhaust systems

Education/Experience

1–3 years in plating, warehouse, or metal finishingBasic problem-solving and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to multi-task and follow production documentationFamiliarity with plating gauges and color differentiationKnowledge of Lean, Kaizen, and 6S principles

Environment/ Shift:

Family-owned manufacturing company specializing in custom commercial and industrial sewn products for the hunting & shooting Industry. They believe strongly in the \"Made in U.S.A.\" philosophy. They sell their packaged products worldwide and OEM parts to multiple firearm companies.Day Shift: 5:00am - 3:30pmm, Mon-Thur OR 7:00am - 3:30pm, Mon-Fri. Candidates will get to choose which one works best for them after the training period.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.
