MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT


As a Platform Automation Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USCENTCOM. You will play a crucial role in the design and implement backend services and automation that power USCENTCOM’s Data Analytical Environment (DAE) and AI environment. This role focuses on workflow reliability, API integration, and operational automation, enabling secure access, orchestration, and governance across data and AI platforms.

The engineer will work closely with platform and security teams to translate architecture, policy, and governance requirements into working, repeatable workflows. This role is not UI-focused and does not involve data science or model development. This role supports the evolution of enterprise AI capabilities from foundational platforms to reusable, governed agent-based services.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services and APIs supporting data and AI workflows.

Implement automation for job submission, access approvals, provisioning, and orchestration.

Implement automation supporting agent rule execution, tagging workflows, and conversation-based context handling.

Integrate classification and tagging logic into repeatable, auditable workflows.

Integrate Kubernetes workloads with Power Platform, on-prem databases, and API gateways.

Support workflow automation for:

Namespace and resource provisioning

Role-based access and approvals

Secure API exposure

Build and maintain reliable integration pipelines supporting RAG and knowledge repository ingestion.

Collaborate with security teams to ensure workflows comply with RBAC, audit, and compliance requirements.

Support troubleshooting and stabilization of cross-system and cross-domain workflows.

Contribute to documentation and operational runbooks for IOC sustainment


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Senior must have:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Certification: DoD Directive 8140 compliant.

Experience: 5+ years of related experience

Required Skills

Strong experience building REST APIs and backend services (Python, Java, or similar).

Experience with automation frameworks, orchestration, or workflow engines.

Familiarity with Kubernetes environments and service integration.

Experience integrating enterprise systems via APIs (on-prem, proxy-based, or hybrid).

Understanding of secure software development in DoD or regulated environments.

Experience with logging, monitoring, and operational troubleshooting.

Desired Skills

Experience integrating Power Platform or low-code solutions with backend services.

Familiarity with API gateways, authentication, and authorization patterns.

Exposure to data pipelines or medallion architectures.

Experience supporting multi-tenant enterprise platforms.

Security clearance level: Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred or eligible.

US citizenship required
