Job Summary

Our Plant Support Engineering group is staffed with experienced engineers across a range of mechanical, civil, electrical, and I&C disciplines, and generally serves as the initial point of contact for all emergent and near-term engineering support.

The Plant Support Engineer for our electrical engineering team supports a broad range of distribution systems, including 24VDC - 240VDC, 120VAC to 345kVAC, and supported loads. Familiarity with relay protection, motors, and generators is desirable. The position provides for complex troubleshooting, equipment condition assessment as well as support for minor design changes.

Key Accountabilities:

Protect work week schedule by supporting resolution of emergent, short cycle, and near-term engineering workEngineering point of contact for execution of online work week schedule and resolution of online Engineering HoldsEngineering support of Operability process (Input to Operability, Follow-up Operability Evaluations)Engineering post work testingEngineering technical support for PROMPT Team MaintenanceEngineering technical support for resolving operating challengesPlanning support for emergent questions and assistance to in‐field activitiesEmergent complex troubleshooting support (FMEA, Confirm/Refute, etc).Prepare Minor Design ModificationsIdentifies and performs tasks as required to meet objectivesLead interpretation and analysis of complex issuesCoordinates assigned projects, studies and initiatives through completionComply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environmentPrepare and present reports including recommendations to resolve complex issuesParticipate in and on occasion lead special project and committeesLead complex problem-solving effortsElectrical specific tasks such as protective device sizing, cable sizing, and motor sizing / analysis.,All other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:

B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer/technical specialist level.)Physical ability and desire to support plant walk downs and inspections.Experience/proficiency in PC use and engineering-specific applications and Engineering Print reading.At least 2 yrs related job experience preferredPrior experience in the nuclear industry favorableTeamwork and collaboration skills across organizational boundariesAble to communicate complex issues effectively through written and verbal communicationAble to influence by establishing effective working relationships across organizational boundariesIn-depth understanding of power plant equipment and systemsAble to evaluate technical alternatives in light of their economic contribution to the businessAble to apply systematic problem-solving processes to address complex issues
