Our client, a leader in the recycling industry, is seeking a **Plant Operator** to join their team. As a Plant Operator, you will be part of the operations team supporting the efficient functioning of the facility. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to safety, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Plant Operator
**Location:** Alexandria, MN
**Pay Range:** $24.72
**Shift:** 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights monthly (6am-6pm for one month, then 6pm-6am the next month)
**What's the Job?**
+ Assist in the operation and repair of the Waste-to-Energy Facility under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and 1st Plant Operator.
+ Operate cranes to charge the furnaces at the prescribed rate.
+ Maintain logs of plant operation and production.
+ Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats, especially in high-pressure situations.
+ Act quickly and calmly in complex emergency situations to ensure safety and efficiency.
**What's Needed?**
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Ability to read and record data accurately.
+ Understanding and compliance with written and verbal operating procedures and instructions.
+ Some knowledge of high-pressure steam and electric power generation principles.
+ Experience with computer-based equipment control and data handling.
+ Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in extreme temperatures.
