Plant Operations Leader
ManpowerGroup
**Start-Up Plant Operations Leader - Greenfield Manufacturing Launch -Southeastern Wisconsin**
**Lead the Launch of a U.S. Flagship Facility**
On behalf of our client, a leading global manufacturer with a strong U.S. footprint and rapidly growing operations, we are seeking a Plant Operations Leader to lead the launch of a new, large-scale production facility located in Southeastern Wisconsin.
This is a rare, high-impact opportunity to lead a full greenfield operation—from equipment installation and team formation to full-scale output and continuous improvement. You’ll be the driving force behind the launch, performance, and long-term culture of this flagship U.S. site.
As the exclusive talent partner managing this search, our firm is working closely with executive leadership to identify proven operations professionals who bring clarity, accountability, and hands-on leadership to fast-moving, high-growth environments.
**About the Opportunity:**
This isn’t a turnaround or optimization. It’s a true greenfield. You’ll build:
+ The systems, teams, and structure from the ground up
+ A safety-first, people-focused culture
+ A site that will scale to 400+ employees and $400M+ run rate within three years
+ A modern facility producing complex modular equipment with high labor-hour intensity (welding, electrical, assembly, crane-based material handling)
As the top operational leader on-site, you’ll also own plant P&L, champion lean principles, and partner directly with executive leadership to build this into the company’s U.S. manufacturing centerpiece.
**Why This Role Stands Out:**
+ **True Legacy Role** : Shape culture, operations, and performance at a U.S. flagship site
+ **High Growth Sector** : Supporting booming demand in data center infrastructure
+ **Compensation Leadership** : Includes strong base, performance bonuses, and long-term growth potential
+ **Executive Visibility** : Direct line to senior operations and strategy leadership
+ **Long-Term Impact** – You won’t just manage—you’ll build something lasting from the ground up
**What You’ll Do:**
+ Stand up all aspects of plant operations: facilities, production, quality, safety, logistics, staffing
+ Lead site-wide deployment of ERP systems, KPIs, and lean manufacturing tools
+ Direct short- and long-term production planning and output scaling
+ Partner with engineering and leadership to mirror an established Canadian facility while adapting for local efficiencies
+ Recruit, mentor, and empower a high-performing leadership team and hourly workforce
+ Drive accountability and structure in a high-growth, high-expectation environment
+ Set the tone for a workplace culture built on safety, respect, and continuous improvement
**What You Bring:**
+ 7+ years in manufacturing leadership, including 3+ as a Plant Manager or Site Director
+ Direct experience launching or significantly scaling greenfield or brownfield operations
+ Strong background in mechanical and electrical assembly environments (preferably heavy equipment, HVAC, data center infrastructure, or modular systems)
+ Track record of measurable lean/CI impact (e.g. improved throughput, reduced waste)
+ Comfortable managing full P&L, labor strategy, and performance metrics
+ Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred), and KPI-driven operational models
+ Calm under pressure, highly structured, and committed to leading by example
+ Willingness to travel during early phase (primarily within North America for training/transfer)
**Travel Expectations:**
This role includes frequent travel during the initial ramp-up period for hands-on collaboration with an established sister site where product assembly and processes are already in motion.
+ First 1-3 Months: Travel up to 50% (typically two weeks per month), supporting knowledge transfer, systems alignment, and hands-on learning at the sister facility. Weekday travel only.
+ Months 3–6: Tapers to 25–30% as equipment is installed, and hiring/training intensifies in Franklin
+ Post-Launch: Occasional travel (~10%) for corporate meetings, customer visits, and supplier engagement
**Ready to Build the Future?**
If you’re a builder at heart—ready to bring structure, vision, and leadership to a new operation—we’d love to hear from you.
