Plant Controller
Job Title: Plant Controller ConsultantJob Description

The current plant controller is going on leave, creating an immediate need for a consultant. This position is located in Cleveland, OH, reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, Thomson Linear Division. It is responsible for overseeing a team of three to ensure accurate and timely monthly close and forecast, supporting the manufacturing site while collaborating with division and segment staff.

ResponsibilitiesFocus heavily on forecasting and financial planning and analysis (FPA).Conduct variance analysis and costing.Ensure application and compliance with accounting policies and procedures, US GAAP, and relevant rules and laws.Maintain the cost accounting system, ensuring data integrity and consistency.Review labor and material variances with a forward-looking approach.Analyze and interpret financial data to recommend changes for cost and system improvements.Develop cost rates and analyze inventory and movements.Lead the annual physical inventory.Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.Manage the cost accountant and staff accountant.Produce labor efficiency reports.Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, and reconciliations.Identify, analyze, and interpret data trends or patterns.Essential SkillsExperience in cost accounting, variance analysis, and forecasting.Proficiency in accounting and month-end financial reporting.Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.Experience as a plant controller or in cost accounting.Ability to lead a team of two direct reports.Capability to perform in-depth analysis, forecasting, and running reports.Adaptability to a high volume, fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a robust manufacturing environment.Work Environment

This role requires onsite presence, ideally full-time for five days a week, although part-time arrangements may be considered. The work environment is high-paced and demanding, necessitating quick and efficient monthly closes within three days.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr.
