The primary responsibility is to be the site leader for the Finance & Accounting functions and an active member of the site leadership team to help in decision making for the Milwaukee manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for performing the necessary accounting activities associated with the monthly financial close, support monthly cycle counting and as needed physical inventories, support the annual budget and monthly forecasting process, calculate standard costs and enhance SAP systems for the Milwaukee business. Additionally, this role will provide value added cost analysis and financial insights for the plant and as well as make recommendations to drive cost reductions and process improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Perform month-end closing activities for Milwaukee Operations Finance. This includes preparation of journal entries, management reports, and account reconciliations.
+ Conduct review and analysis related to production order activity, spending and absorption variances, inventory valuation accuracy and any other plant related financials.
+ Partner with department owners to coordinate/oversee the monthly forecasting process as well as the annual operating budget for plant cost center spending and monthly variances. Monitor actual, forecast and budget spend throughout the year and work with cost center owners on variance analysis to budget and forecasts.
+ Develop standard rates for cost centers and work with engineering on maintenance of plant BOM’s and routers.
+ Work with the planning team to develop monthly manufacturing cost and absorption forecasts based on forecasted demand.
+ Perform monthly reporting on plant KPI’s, monthly spending, production and any other metric deemed necessary to maintain, monitor and improve the overall site performance.
+ Review monthly, quarterly and annual income statement and balance sheet and perform ad hoc analysis as requested.
+ Assist the operations team on development of business plans to justify capital projects.
+ Lead monthly cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
+ Maintain compliance with US GAAP and all company accounting policies.
+ Maintain procedural documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives.
+ Assist with requirements of both internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual audits.
+ Assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience: 5+ years of accounting or finance experience required; Manufacturing or Plant accounting experience required; SAP experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Proficient in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to accurately apply the principles.
+ Working experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Teams.
+ Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
