Plant Accounting Manager
Description We are looking for a highly skilled Plant Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations within a manufacturing environment in East Granby, Connecticut. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage various financial processes effectively. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and compliance with auditing standards. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded. • Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions. • Coordinate and support financial audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards. • Review, approve, and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial data. • Conduct regular account reconciliations to identify and resolve any variances. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and efficiency. • Provide insights and recommendations for financial forecasting and budgeting. • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to financial operations. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred but not required. • Proven experience in manufacturing accounting or similar industry. • Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger activities. • Strong knowledge of financial audits and compliance standards. • Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation. • Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail. • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and communicate financial insights. • Familiarity with financial software and tools relevant to manufacturing accounting.
