Job Title: Production PlannerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team. This role involves coordinating production schedules and acting as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding production status and schedule changes. You will also ensure the smooth flow of materials through the production process while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

ResponsibilitiesDetermine production priorities by studying the master production schedule and customer requirements.Serve as the primary customer contact for production status, schedule changes, shipping information, and returned material.Identify raw material and component requirements from engineering and production specifications.Advise management on work progress, material availability, and potential production problems.Coordinate cross-functional activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and other departments.Evaluate materials supply and demand, preparing work orders or purchase requests as necessary.Schedule and expedite movement of parts to meet customer shipping dates.Apply continuous improvement techniques to internal processes and systems.Analyze inventory usage, scrap, and shrinkage to recommend and implement appropriate actions.Resolve issues related to overshipments, shortages, engineering changes, and order cancellations.Maintain configuration control on open orders and data files as per division policies.Comply with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations, advising management on necessary actions.Provide leadership within the department and act as the prime contact on high-level projects.Train and mentor less experienced employees, sharing specialized knowledge and expertise.
Essential SkillsExperience in planning for manufacturing or aerospace industry (3-5 years).Proficiency in SAP and ERP systems.Strong skills in Excel.Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in production planning or material planning.Knowledge of aerospace or manufacturing industry standards.
Work Environment

This position is on-site with working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $48.00/hr.
