Job Descriptions: We are hiring an experienced Pit Loader for our Columbus Quarry plant in Fortson, GA. This position will operate an off-road WA800 or WA600 loader to load Company haul trucks with short rock to send to Primary Plant. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report on all unsafe conditions and actions to Management and/or Safety Manager immediately. + Maintain a clean and orderly work area and meet other housekeeping needs as required by the Company, MSHA and other regulatory agencies. + Operate Pit Loader and other heavy equipment to lift and transport raw material to company haul trucks, maintain level floor, and maintain safe loadout face. + Expeditiously and safely load out trucks. + Maintain daily cleanliness of heavy equipment being operated. + Perform daily pre-shifts on the loader and complete the pre-shift forms, notify management immediately of any unsafe conditions. + Coordinate with management on inventories and demand. + Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. + Perform other duties as assigned. Comprehensive Benefits Package Includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability and Life Insurance; 401(k) with a match; PTO as soon as 3 months employment, Quarterly Production Bonus Criminal background check and pre-employment drug test required Equal Opportunity Employer Required Experience: What You Need: + Previous experience operating a Pit Loader, Excavator, other heavy equipment in a quarry/mining environment is REQUIRED. + Previous experience in grading/excavating that requires loading of trucks with material like dirt, sand and small stone; Forestry industry loader experience or heavy highway (loading earth/loading road millings on trucks) will be considered in lieu of the Pit Loader requirement. + Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing heavy mining/construction equipment. + Prefer 2 years of heavy equipment experience. + Willing to work overtime and extended hours/weekends, depending on company needs. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. + Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (at waist, lifting above/below waste), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, use of both feet, both arms (above/below shoulders), work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates.
