Piping Inspector – PMC (Oil & Gas | Egypt)

Job Purpose
The Piping Inspector – PMC is responsible for supervising, inspecting, and verifying all piping fabrication, erection, and testing activities in oil & gas facilities. The role ensures full compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, international codes, and HSE requirements to achieve safe and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
+ Inspectpiping fabrication, erection, and installationactivities in accordance with approvedIFC drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, ITPs, and method statements.
+ Verify compliance with applicable piping codes and standards includingASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, API, ANSI, and ASTM.
+ Witness and verifywelding activities, ensuring compliance with approvedWPS, PQR, and welder qualifications.
+ Monitor and witnessNDT activities(RT, UT, MT, PT) and review test reports for compliance.
+ Inspectfit-up, alignment, supports, spring hangers, expansion loops, and piping stress-related installations.
+ Witness and approvepressure testing (hydrostatic & pneumatic), flushing, blowing, chemical cleaning, and drying activities.
+ Verifymaterial receiving inspection, identification, traceability, storage, and preservation of piping materials.
+ RaiseNCRs, site observations, and punch list itemsand follow up until closure.
+ Ensure all piping works comply withHSE requirements, PTW systems, and safe working practices.
+ Coordinate with PMC Engineers, QA/QC teams, contractors, and vendors to resolve site piping issues.
+ Participate inmechanical completion, system walkdowns, and handover activities.
+ Maintain inspection reports, daily site logs, and quality documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma inMechanical Engineeringor equivalent.
+ 8–15 yearsof experience in piping inspection foroil & gas plant projects.
+ Prior experience working withPMC / EPC / Engineering Consultancyorganizations is highly preferred.
+ Strong exposure toonshore oil & gas facilities, refineries, gas processing, or petrochemical plants.
+ Thorough knowledge of piping construction, welding, NDT, and pressure testing activities.
Certifications (Mandatory / Preferred)
+ CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2or equivalent welding inspection certification.
+ NDT Level II(RT / UT / MT / PT) – preferred.
+ Valid HSE certification (NEBOSH / IOSH) – advantage.
Skills & Competencies
+ Strong ability to read and interpretP&IDs, piping isometrics, GA drawings, and stress notes.
+ Excellent knowledge ofoil & gas piping systems and construction practices.
+ High attention to detail with strong inspection and reporting skills.
+ Effective communication and coordination abilities.
+ Proficient in MS Office and QA/QC documentation systems.
