Piping Designer
Job Title: Piping DesignerJob Description

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Piping Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for completing assigned projects on time and accurately, while working independently and developing scope and procedures with input from team leaders and managers.

ResponsibilitiesPerform design-drafting assignments using AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawing techniques.Draft plans and construction drawings considering the operation and layout of piping systems.Conduct fieldwork, including walk-downs, locating tie-ins, and creating dimensioned field sketches.Build equipment models based on vendor and specification documents.Create accurate isometric drawings and develop accurate Bill of Material documents.Prepare layout, design, and 3D modeling of complex piping systems based on P&IDs.Generate complex structural models and coordinate with structural engineers.Interpret piping stress analysis reports and collaborate with stress engineers to establish economical and safe designs.Manage and communicate with third-party designers to ensure quality and efficiency.Mentor and train other designers and drafters.Generate line lists and tie-in lists.Actively participate in P&ID review meetings and drive model review discussions with the technical project team, third-party designers, and customers.Utilize scanned point cloud files to produce accurate piping models.Follow and participate in the development of engineering standards, formats, and procedures to create, update, revise, and modify drawings.Report changes and mistakes to leads, identify changes, and manage the revision process effectively.Learn and adapt quickly to assigned project tasks and manage multiple responsibilities independently.Ensure the quality of work produced and follow methods of continuous improvement.Incorporate safety, operability, maintainability, and constructability in design work.Review and check work prepared by others and provide constructive feedback.Generate man-hour estimates associated with design services scope and monitor progress continuously.Actively participate in project meetings and design/model reviews, providing accurate feedback to the project team.Essential SkillsPrevious piping design experience required.Proficiency in 3D modeling.Experience with AutoCAD (current version or within the last three versions) 2D and Cadworks preferred.Excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office.Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate degree or Technical degree required.Bachelor or Technical degree preferred.Cadworks experience preferred.Familiarity with AISC and ASTM specifications preferred.Knowledge of construction and fabrication techniques preferred.Proficiency in ReCap preferred.Work Environment

The position involves working with advanced design technologies and requires an understanding of construction and fabrication techniques. Candidates should be adaptable and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Colwich, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
