We are seeking an Intermediate Piping Designer to support a pipeline facility compression project. The successful candidate will work independently within a defined area under the guidance of a project lead. This role demands strong accountability and ownership of deliverables, with a focus on producing clean, usable work that integrates well across disciplines.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare deliverables including layouts, lists, and conceptual designs in compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.Prepare design drawings and associated MTOs.Create 3D models of piping and equipment using AutoCAD Plant 3D or CADWorx.Generate piping isometrics and general arrangement drawings.Prepare Plot Plans, BFDs, PFDs, and P&IDs using AutoCAD.Review vendor drawings and update designs accordingly.Perform squad checks of drawings from other disciplines.Interface with other design disciplines (civil, electrical, stress).Assist junior drafters/designers as required.Assemble, manage, and publish model reviews using Navisworks Manage.Participate in document control tasks and assemble drawing packages.Manipulate data to create indexes, line lists, and bills of materials in Excel.Essential Skills5–10 years of piping design experience.Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).Experience with pipeline facility or industrial facility projects.Experience in an EPC environment is preferred.Strong sense of accountability and ownership of work.Additional Skills & Qualifications3D modeling experience in AutoCAD Plant 3D or CADWorx.Familiarity with compressor station layouts and deliverables.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in Calgary. The role involves reporting directly to the project lead. There is a one-stage interview process, with a preference for in-person interviews if the project is confirmed; otherwise, Teams interviews may be used. This role offers a high probability of extension following the initial year contract, with opportunities to work on major projects with well-established teams.
