Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Certified Pipe Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding pipes and piping systems in various industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols while working with various pipe materials and welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Welding Operations

Perform high-quality welding on pipes of various materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy pipesWeld pipes in all positions including horizontal, vertical, and overheadJoin pipe sections and install piping systems according to blueprints and specifications

Quality and Safety

Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure quality standards are metFollow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Maintain clean and organized work areasComply with company safety policies and OSHA regulations

Technical Duties

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbolsCalculate pipe dimensions, angles, and measurementsPrepare pipe surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling as neededSet up welding equipment and select appropriate welding rods/wirePerform routine maintenance on welding equipment

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of welding program from accredited trade school or equivalent experienceValid welding certifications (AWS D1.1, ASME IX, or API 1104 preferred)Current certification in applicable welding positions and processes

 Preferred Experience, Skills and Abilities

Minimum 3-5 years of pipe welding experienceExperience with industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projectsProven track record of producing quality welds that pass inspectionAbility to weld in all positionsExcellent hand-eye coordination and steady handsGood physical stamina and ability to work in various positionsBasic math skills for measurements and calculationsAdditional certifications in specialized welding processesExperience with exotic materials (Inconel, Hastelloy, etc.)

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyComfortable working in confined spaces and at heightsAbility to work in various weather conditionsGood vision and color perceptionAbility to stand, kneel, and work in awkward positions for extended periods
