**Job Title: Pipe Welder**
**Job Overview**
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe Welder to join our fabrication team. This role involves fabricating and assembling structural or plate metal products such as frameworks, tanks, ductwork, platforms, and components for heavy industrial equipment. Work is performed according to job orders, blueprints, and verbal instructions, with a strong emphasis on safety, precision, and teamwork.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
+ Safety & Efficiency: Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
+ Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
+ Measurement & Verification: Use measuring tools (squares, levels, tape measures) to ensure components meet specifications.
+ Assembly: Assemble metal parts using tack welding or bolting techniques.
+ Mathematical Application: Perform basic and advanced math operations, including trigonometry, to support layout and fitting tasks.
+ Inspection: Inspect layout lines and center punch round pipes and cylinders prior to fitting.
+ Fitting: Ensure fit-up gaps are within tolerance without requiring supervisor approval.
+ Surface Preparation: Clean all dog marks and broken tacks before Quality Control (QC) inspection.
+ Welding Execution: Apply weld symbols and lay out skip welds as per project requirements.
+ Fabrication Support: Assist in all areas of fabrication and maintain a clean, organized work area.
+ Team Collaboration: Work overtime as needed and contribute positively to team dynamics.
+ Material Handling: Coordinate with other departments for material movement and handling.
**Required Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a structural plate fitter or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Education: High school diploma or GED required; technical school certificate preferred.
+ Technical Skills:
+ Proficient in reading blueprints and technical documents.
+ Strong understanding of welding techniques and metal fabrication.
+ Skilled in using hand and power tools.
+ Soft Skills:
+ Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
+ Excellent time management and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
