**Overview** **About the Position:** This position is located at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), Landstuhl, Germany. The selectee willserve as a board certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist forLRMC. The Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), also known as Landstuhl Hospital, is a U.S. Army post in Landstuhl, Germany, near Ramstein Air Base. It is an amalgamation of Marceau Kaserne (German: Infanterie-Kaserne) and Wilson Barracks (Kirchberg-Kaserne), which were merged on October 15, 1951. LRMC, is the only forward-stationed medical center for U.S. & Coalition forces, Department of State personnel, and repatriated U.S. citizens. LRMC is the largest U.S. hospital outside the United States where it serves as the sole military medical center for more than 205,000 beneficiaries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. LRMC is a jointly staffed Army commanded 100-bed Medical Center that is strategically located near Ramstein Air Base, providing 52 medical specialties and over 46,000 outpatient visits per month. LRMC is the only American College of Surgeons verified Level III Trauma Center outside the United States. Construction is ongoing for a new hospital facility (the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Medical Center Replacement) that will replace the existing hospital. Construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2027. For more information, please visit the following link: https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/benefits/ Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. ยง 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment. **This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation.** **Who May Apply: US Citizens** **Responsibilities** As a Physician Radiology-Interventionalist you will: + Provides and interprets the full range of Vascular and Interventional Radiology exams and procedures in accordance with established principles. + Oversees the radiographic examination, ensuring the correct radiographic procedures are conducted. + Provides full formal counseling with patients, thoroughly documenting all aspects of the encounter in the Medical Treatment Record. + Coordinates and oversees the work of the health care team, patient care, and clinic activities in assigned area(s). + Evaluates and interprets radiographs within the department in accordance with established principles, practices and ethics of both the medical profession and the American College of Radiology. + Interventional Radiologist performs high risk invasive procedures. + Investigates new procedures and diagnostic techniques in radiology to improve or modify diagnostic capabilities and interventional radiology procedures + Serves as subject matter expert in Radiology Imaging and performance of interventional surgical procedures. + Performs Other Duties as Assigned **Qualifications** **Who May Apply: US Citizens** In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Additional information about transcripts isin this document (https://portal.chra.army.mil/hr\_public?id=kb\_article&sysparm\_article=KB0016283) . **Basic Requirement for Physician (Radiology- Interventionalist):** **Degree:** Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must have provided education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. **Licensure:** Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States **Graduate Training:** Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training. **In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:** **Residency Training:** Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in Diagnostic Radiology with fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology or Interventional Radiology Residency at an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) approved institution and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years.
