We are seeking a skilled Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider to join our inpatient team. The successful candidate will manage the comprehensive care of post-operative orthopedic patients from their initial recovery phase to final discharge coordination. This role involves performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to monitor recovery and identify complications, and collaborating closely with our orthopedic surgeons to formulate and execute effective, patient-centered treatment and rehabilitation plans. The APP will focus on wound care, early mobilization, and patient and family education to ensure a smooth transition of care and prevent readmissions in our fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. Serves as a role model, mentor, and preceptor for others. Enters into a formal collaborative practice agreement with physician(s) to support a designated clinical service.
Responsibilities
Manages the health care of select patient populations through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation.Coordinates the care of select patient populations to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services and placing referrals.Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs.Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol.Minimum Requirements
