Hiring Phlebotomist in Severna Park The primary role of the Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting issues, providing training, and recommending workflow improvements. Responsibilities + Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens accurately. + Record maintenance data and decontaminate equipment as necessary. + Collect and store specimens following established procedures. + Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods such as urine or fecal, in a clear and courteous manner. + Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. + Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately. + Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders. + Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures. Essential Skills + Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, if required. + 2-3 years of phlebotomy experience.
