Job Title: Phlebotomist IIJob Description

We are seeking skilled Phlebotomists for two openings. One position is based at the Olathe Women's Clinic in Olathe, KS, where the candidate will work consistently at the same location. The other is a FLOAT role requiring flexibility in starting times, as healthcare demands may necessitate shifts starting at 7:45 AM, 8:00 AM, or 8:15 AM. Both roles are full-time, offering 8-hour shifts, totaling 40 hours per week, and are contract-to-hire opportunities. Mileage expenses will be covered.

ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens.Record maintenance data and decontaminate equipment.Update patient information and collect/store specimens as per established procedures.Clearly explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.Fully understand and execute physicians' orders.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes accurately.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.Package specimens for transport, store samples at the required temperature, and maintain specimen integrity.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department training.Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results when necessary.Essential SkillsValid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.High School Diploma or GED.2-4 years of related experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to provide evidence of 7 years of employment through W2 forms.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
