Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at a medical facility in Eugene. This role involves greeting patients, performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and maintaining accurate patient records. The Phlebotomist will also be responsible for ensuring specimens are collected and stored according to established procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity.Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.Attend annual department trainings.Handle insurance and billing processes.Provide excellent customer service and respond to patient inquiries.

Essential Skills

High School Diploma or GED.At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience.Proficiency with straight and butterfly needles.Ability to handle challenging draws, such as those from pediatric and geriatric patients.National Phlebotomy Certification (preferred, not required).Experience with 20-50+ draws per shift in high-pressure environments.Strong attention to detail in specimen handling and labeling.Ability to navigate EMR systems and troubleshoot technology issues.

The schedule is to be determined, and the initial contract duration is 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.24/hr.
