We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using approved techniques and universal precautions.Verify patient identity and match specimens to requisitions in compliance with HIPAA and hospital policy.Label, process, and transport specimens according to laboratory standards and regulatory requirements.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; follow OSHA and infection control protocols.Communicate professionally with patients and staff to reduce anxiety and explain procedures clearly.Document all collections accurately in the electronic health record (Mobilab).Essential SkillsAbility to work the shift and be reliable to every other weekend schedule.Strong customer service skills.Independent worker and self-motivated.CPT License required.Experience in inpatient settings preferred.Ability to draw 40+ patients per day, approximately 5 per hour.Proficiency in blood draw techniques, including butterfly and pediatric heel sticks.Active California CPT license.BLS Certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsInpatient experience highly preferred.Ability to do pediatric heel sticks.Work Environment

The position is based in a hospital setting, working on the floor and in the Emergency Department (ED). You will be part of a team of three phlebotomists working the night shift, with two on the floor and one in the ED. Phlebotomists typically handle 26 draws on a slow day and up to 45 on a busy day. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
