We are seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team! This role is responsible for collecting, processing, and preparing patient specimens according to established clinical and safety procedures. The ideal candidate is skilled in venipuncture, works confidently in a fast‑paced environment, and provides patients with a clear, professional, and courteous experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needlesExplain venipuncture and specimen‑collection procedures to patients in a clear and courteous mannerCollect, label, and store specimens according to established protocolsCentrifuge, split, freeze, and prepare specimens based on test ordersMatch laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes with complete accuracyVerify test requisitions and computer labels against provider scripts for 100% correctnessPackage specimens for transport while following specific temperature and handling requirementsMaintain specimen integrity by using proper containers, labeling, and protocol‑based proceduresRecord maintenance data, perform equipment decontamination, and update patient informationAnswer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results when appropriateUnderstand and comply with OSHA and DEP safety regulationsAttend all required annual department trainingsMinimum QualificationsMinimum of 6 months of experience performing venipuncture in a fast‑paced lab or hospital settingHigh School Diploma or GED (verification required)2+ years of work experience preferredAdditional RequirementsAbility to maintain professionalism and accuracy in a high‑volume environmentStrong attention to detail and adherence to clinical protocolsExcellent communication and patient‑service skillsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Park, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.80/hr.
