Job Summary: Serve as a Phlebotomist in area Nursing Homes, perform Home Draws on rotation, and fill in at Lab Draw Sites as needed. Hours are Monday Friday 5:30 am to 2 pm. Use of personal vehicle and mileage records may be requested. Performs routine and difficult phlebotomies for patients as ordered by qualified providers. Uses EPIC EMR/LIS systems to create registrations, transcribe/scan outside physicians orders, convert (if needed), release/collect orders as part of the accessioning process and to contact provider offices. Identifies patients and labels specimens appropriately. Some processing may be required. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy experience or graduation from an approved Phlebotomy program required. Typing, computer skills and interpersonal skills are required. Must have reliable means of transportation and a NYS drivers license. Preferred Qualifications: Prior phlebotomy experience and basic understanding of medical laboratory technology and medical terminology desired.
