SUMMARY
Bering Straits Professional Services, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Phase SEAL/SWCC Instructor for the Naval Special Warfare Center Command Basic Training Command Training Support Services. This position will provide all instructor support necessary to augment military personnel in direct and indirect support of the assessment, selection and training and development of SEAL officer/enlisted, SWCC enlisted candidates.
Wage/Salary Range: $68,000k – $100,000 annually

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.
· Administer physical and mental development training of students by providing instruction in the areas of diving, weapons, demolitions, and small unit tactics
· Lead physical training evolutions to develop discipline and endurance
· Lead physical training evolutions lasting up to one hour
· Lead physical training sessions of up to one hour consisting of upper and lower body calisthenics
· Provide guidance to the Government in the student remediation processes to rehabilitate performance deficiencies in the areas of running, swimming, and the obstacle course, or other areas as necessary
· Assist the Government in developing curriculum and training materials related to the scope of training topics
· Accomplish Instructor and curriculum development objectives; these objectives include reviewing and creating evolution guidelines, preparing and conducting operational risk management, evaluating classroom instruction, and reviewing Instructor Training Records (ITRs).
· Assist with the design of new courses or update existing courses which develop basic physical proficiency in core skills.
· Have the ability to recognize and address student-learning problems, communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and plan and organize work.
· Qualify as a High-Risk Safety and Training Instructor in accordance with OPNAV, NSW and BTC/ATC High Risk Safety and Training instruction and policy.
· Qualify within BTC/ATC Phase/Division specific Course Unique Instructor Training (CUIT) and Evolution Lead Instructor (ELI) requirements.
· Adhere to all NSW Policy, Instruction and guidance which pertain to evolution guidelines in the conduct of various training evolutions.
· Access Personal Identification Information (PII) and potentially Personal Health Information (PHI) subject to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPPA) requirements and safeguard it accordingly, complying with all HIPPA requirements as well as protecting such information.
· Track student performance as they progress through the SEAL/SWCC training pipeline.
· Record student performance, testing and other course metrics within the NSW Individual Training and Readiness Management (ITRMS) database.
· Coordinate with the Phase/Division leadership in order to identify trends to improve individual student or class performance within training pipeline.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
• Minimum, eight (8) years of NSW SEAL or SWCC Operator Experience
• Meet qualification standards as a Water Rescue Craft Operator as outlined in NAVSPECWARCENINST 3500.4. Applicable training to meet Job Qualification Requirement (JQR) provided by the Government to the assigned Instructor.
• Experience for qualifications must be in the last 20 years
• At a minimum, be able to qualify as an ATV operator and shall be capable of performing duties therein
• CPR, Automated external defibrillator (AED) and First Aid qualified prior to assuming duties
• Possess a current and valid US driver's license and be able to operate government vehicles
• SECRET Clearance
• US Citizen

· Ability and desire to work in 1st Phase training environment if required
· Former service members with a rank of E7 or higher are strongly preferred
NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Shall be required to perform physical testing in accordance with established guidelines set forth in OPNAVINST Physical Readiness Program.
· Instructors are required to meet minimum PST standards and maintain a sufficient fitness level to pass on a yearly basis.
· This position requires the ability to maneuver around and see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and contractors. Visual acuity to review written documentation and ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels.
DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS
· This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position requires working indoors and outdoors in a variety of settings. Must be able to maintain health in hot and cold conditions with exposure to the elements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· No supervisory responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
· Must have reliable transportation to/from work and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
· This position is subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing on an unannounced basis.
· As a condition of employment, maybe required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, psychological and medical screening as well as have acceptable reference and background check (Secret) results to obtain access to military base.
