You will achieve A project manager role is available within the Biotherapeutics Portfolio & Strategy group in the Biotherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences Department. The position will report to Director of BPS Project Management. The successful applicant will join a cross site group to provide project management expertise to the Biotherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences organization for both early and late stage product development teams inclusive of CMC regulatory submission support.
Early phase support will include the development and management of project plans in Planisware and will include forecasting both short and long term project resource projections (FTE’s and Financials). · Late Stage support is focused primarily on developing and managing project execution plans through the use of Microsoft Project supporting both project teams and sub teams. · In both cases, the project manager will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and publishing of agendas, general meeting support, actively managing the teams Integrated Project Plans (IPP) across multifunctional teams. This will also include scientific disciplines, identifying and communicating schedule and resource risks and opportunities, conducting various asset team project scenario analyses, recognizing project successes and achievements. ·
The Project Manager would be expected to support multiple projects with different technologies or modality platforms.
The successful candidate will also have an understanding and knowledge of fundamental project management principles and concepts, be highly organized, have strong interpersonal skills and is willing to be an active member of the team while working in a highly balanced matrix environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Integrated Planning · As a member of the PharmSci Project Team, the Project Manager partners with team members (e.g., Pharmaceutical Sciences Team Leads (PSTLs) / Co-Development Team Leads (CDTL’s)/ Candidate Planners, PGS and Supply Chain team members) to deliver program outcomes within the forecasted timeline and budget. · Independently manages project workload, proactively maintaining end-to-end project plans and associated forecasts for both resources/FTEs and external spend. · Monitor project milestone and timeline changes based on input from PharmSci Team Lead, Candidate Plan, and participation in Project Team meetings / discussions. · Updates timing of activities and costs within PharmSci Project Plan for consistency with strategy changes, technical challenges, and project risks. · Proactively identifies gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement to the project plan and forecast. · Leads cross-functional resource discussions/meetings with the Science & Technology lines (Analytical R&D, Bioprocessing R&D, Pharmaceutical Formulation R&D) to ensure accurate indirect (FTE) and direct $ forecasts. Develops and interprets scenarios under tight timelines and with limited and often ambiguous input to support project valuations, acceleration proposals, alternative development strategies, and/or business development deals related to current or proposed projects. Data Analysis and Reporting · Conducts analytics and reporting to support the regular reviews of project level forecasts with PSTLs, CDTLs, Portfolio Leads, and Finance to ensure high-data quality and completeness of forecast data for assigned projects. · Utilizes data analytics and reporting skills to extract and integrate data from various systems (e.g., RAPID data ecosystem, Business Objects reporting, Spotfire, Finance and Procurement systems) to support project and portfolio level analyses. · Translate data into Gantt charts and financial reports using OnePager and Microsoft Excel. · Prepare reports for Finance and PharmSci Team Lead to support quarterly Finance Quarterly budget / close cycles. · Able to quantify and explains forecast changes and key drivers of changes to forecast and plan. · Update PharmSci project plans to reflect financial commitments through monitoring of purchase orders and commitments of spend to other functions (e.g., PGS). Process Leadership · Navigates and guides PSTLs/CDTLs and project teams through the complexities of the clients annual operating plan, quarterly financial / forecast updates, investment buy-ups and portfolio governance reviews. · Proposed and/or leads initiatives that improve or drive efficiencies into our direct and indirect forecasting accuracy and processes. · Contributes to the development and improvement of our Planisware planning templates and resource algorithms that drive our direct and indirect budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS ·
BS/BA in Biological or Engineering Sciences with 3+ years of hands-on experience or Master's degree with 1+ years of hand on experience. · 1 year of previous experience working with software supporting business operations (MS Project, MS Office). · Intermediate or advanced knowledge of MS Office required. · Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. · Capable of working with in a high matrixed, fast paced environment. · Strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail and accuracy, in work products and associated communications. · Able to work under tight timelines, multi-task, and prioritize one’s work to meet key deadlines. · Ability to convert large and complex datasets into charts, graphs, and PowerPoint slides, with explanation/insights clearly articulated.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Previous Project Related Experience. · PMP Certified. · Working with Planisware. · Capable of managing cross functional cross site global teams. · Previous experience in biological engineering science
