Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, where you will play a critical role in filling and compounding medications, managing phone interactions with nursing staff, and ensuring the accurate labeling of prescriptions. You will be part of a dynamic environment that services 1000 beds, adhering to pharmacy policies and procedures.

ResponsibilitiesFill and compound medications, including ointments.Communicate with nursing staff to confirm dosage over the phone.Fill prescriptions accurately for a facility with 1000 beds.Label prescriptions correctly, following pharmacy policies.Work in either daily fill or cycle fill departments, preparing medications for immediate or 30+ day use.Essential SkillsExperience as a Pharmacy Tech or similar role.Understanding of medication and prescription processes.Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Possession of a pharmacy tech trainee license.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a production environment is beneficial.Work Environment

This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with shifts varying between 7-3:30 and 11-7:30, based on coverage needs. You will work in a casual setting in a new location, where standing for long periods is required. The dress code is relaxed, allowing jeans and t-shirts, but closed-toe shoes are mandatory. The work involves supporting long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes, assisted living, and group homes, rather than a retail setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Ankeny, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
