Provides basic drug distribution and drug preparation services. Checks pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level including preparing labels, calculating quantities, assembling intravenous solutions such as chemotherapy and other pharmaceutical therapies. Double checks medication distribution and monitors controlled substances. Leads work involving automated dispensing cabinets inventory and monitoring. Provides coaching and mentoring to pharmacy technicians and clerks. The technician functions under the supervision of the pharmacist.
Principle Responsibilities
◦ Prepares sterile parenteral medications for home infusion.
◦ Coordinates care with liaisons.
◦ Manages patient paperwork and billing documentation.and/or
◦ Assigns medication pockets in automated dispensing cabinets.
◦ Ensures timely loading and unloading of medications into automated dispensing cabinets.
◦ Troubleshoots issues and malfunctioning equipment.and/or
◦ Maintains controlled substance monitoring and inventory.
◦ Conducts routine audits to monitor for controlled substance diversion.
◦ Conducts in-depth investigation, as needed.and/or
◦ Procures medications and pharmacy supplies.
◦ Processes invoices.
◦ Monitors inventory and alert managers when unable to purchase sufficient supply.
◦ Identifies alternate vendors, as needed.and/or
◦ Conducts analysis of automated dispensing cabinets activity to optimize inventory and vend to refill ratio.
◦ Assists with maintenance of automated dispensing cabinets.
◦ Completes special projects to optimize inventory.Completes the following activities, as needed, to support completion of pharmacy workload as neededPrepares medications, parenteral products, and chemotherapy.Manages and supports automated drug distribution by picking, delivering and restocking medications, and assisting with returns, waste, and reporting/resolution of discrepancies.Repackages and labels bulk medications or split tablets into unit dose packaging which includes creating labels, filling and prepackaging medications and assigning expiration dates.Completes quality assurance activities including medication expiration checking, as assigned.Provides direction and training.Directs workflow systems and pharmacy staff.Trains and assists pharmacy technicians and assistants.Provides coaching, mentoring, and recognition.Assists supervisor in annual reviews for all technicians and assistants.Completes schedules to meet business needs.Assists to resolve escalated customer service issues.Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $24.62 to $33.74 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.Benefit Summary
