JOB SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, provides a higher level of direct patient care pharmacy services for an assigned, specialized patient population to assure adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices. Advises/consults with patients and their families and with the medical and nursing staff. Participates in research and drug use outcomes management programs within specialty area; responsible for publishing data or giving presentations at local, regional or national meetings; instructs and trains pharmacy residents and students; assists in overseeing and directing the clinical services provided by pharmacists. Acts as a mentor to Clinical Pharmacists and Clinical Specialist Is.

REQUIREMENTS Required Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy Preferred Doctorate Degree Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) 7+ years Education/Knowledge: Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master's degree; knowledge in more than one discipline Education Discipline: Completion of PGY-1+PGY-2 residency in area of specialty plus 4 additional years in area of specialty, or PGY-1 residency plus six additional years in specialty area, or eight post-graduate practice years in area of specialty. Board certification required Required RX - Pharmacist Board Cert Pharmacotherapy Specialist BLS - Basic Life Support ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support PALS - PALS
