Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Remote Pharmacy Technician Job Description Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician in the Appeals department, where you will play a pivotal role in assisting Medicare and Medicaid patients, primarily focusing on Medicare. Your responsibilities will include working through denied Prior Authorizations and forwarding cases to Pharmacists for final determination. You will review provided information, seek additional details, and then send the case to Pharmacists for a decision on whether to uphold or overturn the denial. Responsibilities + Review information provided for denied Prior Authorizations. + Reach out to gather additional information from Medicare patients. + Forward cases to Pharmacists for final determination. + Handle outbound calls to Medicare/elderly members regarding medication denials. + Make 30-60 outbound calls per shift to assist patients. + Manage conversations with frustrated patients to provide assistance and solutions. Essential Skills + Pharmacy Technician license. + Experience in pharmacy, appeals, managed care, claims, and denials. + Proficiency in data entry. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong customer service skills over the phone. + Ability to handle calls efficiently and control conversations. + Capability to redirect conversations as needed. Work Environment Work in a dynamic environment where you will interact with Medicare patients over the phone. You will be making outbound calls rather than receiving inbound ones, focusing on assisting elderly patients with their medication concerns. The position requires attention to detail, patience, and excellent communication skills to manage conversations effectively. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
