Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description The Pharmacy Technician Fulfillment role involves assisting in the preparation and distribution of drug products. The technician will be responsible for preparing prescription medications using the fulfillment system. Responsibilities + Process prescription exceptions, including resolving claim rejects and conducting member and physician outreach. + Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system. + Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and/or escalated member issues. + Escalate questions regarding prescriptions to a Pharmacist for interpretation or processing guidance. + Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls. + Utilize prescription data entry procedures and guidelines to process new patient registration. + Handle patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing. + Troubleshoot to obtain missing prescription information and interpret medical abbreviations (SIG codes). + Resolve all data entry-related exceptions. + Run automated machinery, sort medications, and transition inventory through different workflow stages with a focus on quality control. + Count and fill prescriptions, affix labels, pack and ship. + Clean and help maintain machinery and maintain an orderly work area. + Resolve Third Party Rejects by reviewing, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements. + Provide assistance to Pharmacists both in the facility and at other locations. + Identify and communicate issues to staff as appropriate. Essential Skills + High School diploma or GED. + 0 to 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience. + Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by state of operation. + Active pharmacy technician license, which must not expire before the end of the assignment. + Basic computer skills, including proficiency in using a mouse, starting and closing programs, saving files, and accessing information online. + Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English. + Intermediate level keyboarding skills, with at least 25 WPM touch typing and document formatting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Pharmacy Tech Certified. + 2 years of pharmacy tech experience. + Ability to document in a timely manner. + Experience in data entry, health care, and retail pharmacy. + Basic Search Engines skills, including opening a browser, typing URLs, using a search engine, bookmarking sites, and navigating using browser buttons. + Willingness to learn and adapt. Work Environment The position requires working shifts from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM with days off on either Saturday and Tuesday or Saturday and Wednesday. The work involves using automated machinery and maintaining an orderly work area. The environment focuses on quality control and requires adherence to HIPAA guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mansfield, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
