Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to efficiently manage and process coverage determination requests. This role involves tracking requests from providers, evaluating the necessity of pharmacist reviews, and ensuring decisions are accurately documented and communicated.

ResponsibilitiesTrack and triage coverage determination requests submitted by providers.Determine if a pharmacist review is necessary for each request.Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers.Approve coverage determination requests based on predefined criteria.Enter and document coverage determination request decisions into the PBM system.Notify providers and/or members regarding the decisions made on their requests.Respond to client inquiries about authorization approvals and PBM online applications.Refer coverage determination requests for specialty drugs to the delegated vendor or client for processing.Contact providers for additional information to facilitate coverage determination reviews.Notify physicians, providers, and members of coverage determination request decisions.Essential SkillsProficiency in pharmacy operations and data entry.Experience with prior authorizations and CPHT certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in Microsoft applications.Experience in Managed Care environments.Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid processes.Work Environment

The role involves working with PBM systems and communicating with healthcare providers. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
