PHARMACY TECHNICIAN III - MTDM (AMBULATORY)
The Pharmacy Technician III will assist the Medication Therapy Disease Management (MTDM) Pharmacist with all activities of the ambulatory care clinic and is responsible for specialized tasks including, but not limited to: knowledge of clinic policies and procedures, processing referrals, patient scheduling, triaging phone calls, providing applicable direct patient care activities (i.e. obtaining vitals, point-of-care testing for INR and hemoglobin A1c, foot exams, etc.).
The Pharmacy Technician III will also perform all job duties of Pharmacy Technician II (as applicable) to include assisting the Pharmacist with technical and non-technical routine duties related to the acquisition, storage and dispensing of medications, chemicals, and related supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Business/college courses preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy required upon hire or transfer; National Pharmacy Technician Certification required upon hire or transfer.
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
1 year hospital, retail, or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) pharmacy experience OR current Level II Pharmacy Technician with minimum 6 months in position. Strong organizational and mathematical skills Proficient in pharmacy computer systems Effective communication and patient confidentiality practices Working knowledge of Microsoft applications preferred Flexible schedule including various shifts and weekends
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards of the hospital environment, such as exposure to infectious disease, hazardous waste, and potential injury. Requires the ability to stand and walk 90% of the time. Requires the ability to reach and lift up to 30 to 40 pounds. Regular exposure to hazardous drugs requiring specialized PPE and safety protocols. Work in clean room environments with specific pressure, temperature, and humidity requirements, if applicable. Required to wear appropriate PPE including chemotherapy gowns, gloves, and respiratory protection when handling hazardous drugs, if applicable.
