The Pharmacy Purchasing Associate has five primary functions; (1) Maintain all pharmaceuticals and related supplies at proper inventory levels;(2) Purchase pharmaceuticals and related supplies in compliance with established contracts and/or based upon product/vendor quality and price; (3) Oversees receipt, and storage of pharmaceuticals and related supplies; (4) Reviews all purchase orders, shipping documents and invoices for accuracy, process invoices and maintains purchase records and reports; (5) Assists 340B Program Manager with auditing and compliance with the program including all Ellis Medicine Pharmacy Purchasing areas. The Pharmacy Purchasing Associate also oversees the activities of the Pharmacy Inventory Control Clerks and meets with pharmaceutical and supply representatives. · Maintain all pharmaceuticals and related supplies at proper inventory levels · Purchase pharmaceuticals and related supplies in compliance with established contracts and/or based upon product/vendor quality and price · Oversees receipt and storage of pharmaceuticals and related supplies · Reviews all purchase orders, shipping documents and invoices for accuracy, processes invoices and maintains purchase records and reports. · Assists 340B Program Manager with auditing and compliance with the program including all Ellis Medicine Pharmacy Purchasing areas. · Oversee the activities of the Pharmacy Inventory Control Clerks and meet with pharmaceutical and supply representatives. · Will work in conjunction with and take direction from the 340B program manager in addition to the Pharmacy Manager. WHAT WILL YOU DO AS A PHARMACY PURCHASING ASSOCIATE? EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S): · High school diploma or equivalent required. · Associates degree in business preferred. · At least two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Inventory Control Clerk required. · Effective communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to build consensus and motivate others to implement strategies is a must. · Must be adept at supplier selection, record keeping, negotiation, contractual and problem resolution and possess a thorough working knowledge of purchase orders. · Must understand receipt and accounts payable cycle along with a working knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), 340B purchasing rules, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and split billing software. · Must have the aptitude to effectively use tools to analyze information that support purchasing decisions. · Must know how to apply quantitative analysis tools to make fact-based decisions which limit risk and maximize savings. · The ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and various vendor-supplied software is required. Salary Range: $ 20.21-$29.31 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the state.
