Shift: Rotating (10 hour Weekend Shifts)
Hours: 6am-11pm (occasional overnights)
Weekends: One Weekend a Month
The Clinical Pharmacist Intern is responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.
Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Manages patient drug therapy in accordance with the medical staff-approved clinical practice standards under the direction of a pharmacist. Serves as the primary resource for drug information within the hospital and assures the appropriateness of all physician medication orders under the direction of a pharmacist. Remote project work once fully trained onsite in IV room with sterile compounding.Education
Will consider pharmacy students with an active intern license or new graduated pharmacists eligible to obtain Virginia state Pharmacy Intern license.
Certification/Licensure
Must have Virginia or North Carolina (applicable to location) license within 90 days of Sentara start date.
