Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

Is responsible for delivering superior customer service. Smiles and greets customers, answers non-medical questions, does suggestive selling, handles special requests, assists in resolving minor customer issues in a prompt and courteous manner.Assists customers at the register by processing sales of prescriptions, OTC products, groceries, and other various items for sale.Assists in identifying customer’s needs, helps to locate product, and promote products and services. Works with the pharmacists to resolve any customer issues or problems.Operates and maintains a working knowledge of equipment to help provide service to customers including the register, phones, and other department equipment.Retrieves prescriptions and prescription refills from customers and other necessary information required for prescription processing while partnering with the technicians and pharmacists to assign wait times.Assists customers in completing first time patient information documents utilizing a patient information form. Requesting any insurance or patient discount cards and make copies for pharmacy records.Provides customer assistance during prescription pick up by retrieving prescriptions from will call, scanning prescriptions to verify the correct prescription is selected, gathering electronic signatures for HIPAA acknowledgment and third-party payment if applicable, in accordance with company policies and procedures.Works within the department to unpack and put away pharmacy orders.Provide operational support to the pharmacists on duty and ensures and maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Reports, immediately, any suspected prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.Follows all department policies and procedure and complies with state and federal regulations.Performs additional job-related responsibilities and duties as necessary or assigned.Support and embody the Mission, Vision, and Values of Weis Markets.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisor responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS


To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or experience completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Valid driver's license for business travel purposes.

RATE OF PAY AND BENEFITS 

The hourly pay for this position starts at $15.00/hr. and is up to $22.00/hr.
