Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead the launch and daily operations of our new pharmacy. This role is ideal for a pharmacy professional who thrives in a startup environment, excels at independent decision‑making, and is confident overseeing all operational, clinical, and regulatory aspects of a pharmacy. As the PIC, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, developing and maintaining operational procedures, managing inventory with precision, and delivering exceptional service and support to internal and external stakeholders. Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory & Compliance + Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge in accordance with all state Board of Pharmacy rules and requirements. + Ensure continuous readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation reviews. + Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for prescriptions, dispensing, inventory, and quality assurance programs. Operational Leadership + Lead the operational startup of the pharmacy, including opening procedures and ensuring full operational readiness. + Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all pharmacy workflows. + Oversee all medication preparation, dispensing, final verification, and documentation activities. + Manage daily operations independently while partnering with remote leadership on key decisions, workflow improvements, and cost‑containment strategies. Inventory Management + Own all aspects of inventory operations, including ordering, receiving, storage, reconciliation, cycle counts, and expiration management. + Implement inventory controls to support financial stewardship and minimize waste. Required Qualifications & Skills + Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree. + Strong leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. + Demonstrated experience in a retail or outpatient pharmacy setting. + Proven ability to manage inventory with accuracy and efficiency. + Excellent communication skills, including comfort engaging with executive‑level stakeholders. + Ability to operate independently and make sound, compliant decisions. Preferred Skills + Experience in pharmacy startup environments. + Customer service mindset with a focus on quality and patient safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Round Rock, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $69.00 - $76.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
