Pharmacist – Inpatient Operations (Days- 7 days on, 7 days off)
Oversees the nightly operation of the pharmacy. Ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration drug therapy monitoring services and supervision of the medication dispensing process in the Medical Center.

The anticipated schedule arrangement for the successful incumbent is 7 days on, 7 days off. The anticipated scheduled hours for days worked is from 7:30am through 7:30pm.

What You’ll Do:

· Deliver expert pharmacy support across 679 beds, on night shift (7 days on/7 days off, Thursday night through Wednesday night rotation).

· Train and become an expert on:

Inpatient OperationsSterile and Non-Sterile Compounding OperationsControlled Substances OperationsTriaging nursing and provider pharmacy services needs

· Gain additional exposure to direct clinical patient care, with flexibility to cover shifts as needed and based on skills and performance.

· Participate in additional rotational night shift coverage

Beyond the Bench:

· Collaborate on protocol development, guideline updates, and departmental goals.

· Ensure safe, effective medication use through order verification, regimen design, and therapy monitoring.

· Partner with pharmacy leadership and medical staff to optimize patient care and drug therapies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s DegreeExperience: No experience requiredLicensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. 

Preferred Qualifications

Education: PharmD DegreeExperience: Experience supporting operations in an Inpatient Pharmacy operations settingLicensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. 

Physical Demands – Job requires standing for prolonged periods.  Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs.  May be exposed to chemicals.

Onboarding Requirements

Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.

The starting base rate for this role is $64.37 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
