Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description Join our team as a Pharmacy Floor Technician, where you will play a crucial role in preparing finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. Responsibilities + Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner under the supervision of a pharmacist. + Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle/dispose of them per procedure. + Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them as needed during low volume times. + Manually package materials and products. + Pull and pick medications from shelving and other medication storage areas. + Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks. + Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication/product that is not scanning properly. + Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish all stock supplies needed. + Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA. + Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required and/or expected. + Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Experience in retail pharmacy and data entry. + Possess and maintain a clear and active MD Pharmacy Technician License issued by the MD Board of Pharmacy. + Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School diploma or equivalent. + Ability to work at a moderate speed. + Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred. Work Environment Work in a pharmacy setting where you may sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. You may be required to sit or stand for seven to ten hours per day and work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity is required to operate office equipment, and you may need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus are essential. You must be able to hear normal voice sounds. The environment is representative of what an employee will encounter while performing essential functions of this role. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Columbia, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
