Petroleum Inspector

Job Description

As a Petroleum Inspector, you will perform crucial tasks such as sampling, pipeline transfers, inventories, and barge inspections, including line condition surveys. You will work independently to gauge and sample shore tanks and client terminals, ensuring timely and efficient sampling and gauging. Your role will also involve obtaining, labeling, and transporting samples to the laboratory, maintaining inspection equipment, and conducting field calculations according to API Standards.

Responsibilities

Perform unsupervised gauging and sampling of shore tanks and client terminals.Obtain, label, and transport samples to the laboratory.Maintain and calibrate assigned inspection equipment.Conduct field calculations and complete required documentation.Submit reports to the Operations Department.Perform specialized inspection services such as loss control, wall washings, or confined space entry after receiving necessary training.Commute to terminals in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.

Essential Skills

High School Diploma or equivalent with strong math skills.Minimum of 3 months of petroleum experience preferred.Completion of Inspector level training with successful theoretical tests and field evaluations.Possession of a valid Transportation Worker’s Identification Card (TWIC) or ability to obtain one.Possession and maintenance of a vehicle in good working order, a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and registration.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Griffith, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
