JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Division Chief and the Section Head, the SWO II provides essential technical support to the social program design formulation process by assisting in drafting preliminary technical papers to develop appropriate social work program designs responsive to the identified psychosocial needs of the priority sectors. This key responsibility involves active participation in social data collection and initial assessment to ensure all foundational program elements are informed by the results of social research and evaluation.
Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to the data gathering, preliminary analysis, and reporting of psychosocial needs and community profiles to identify social welfare and development service delivery gaps and priority issues for program development;
2. Assist in the conduct of consultation activities with vulnerable groups and field social workers that directly contribute to effective social program design formulation;
3. Provide technical support and facilitate documentation and version control in the formulation of the concept and design of innovative social welfare and development models of intervention;
4. Contribute to the drafting, editing, and production of appropriate materials (e.g., social assessment tools, training guides, communication materials, etc.) based on analysis, research, and evaluation results;
5. Facilitate the provision of necessary data, basic tools, program resources, and foundational technical skills to stakeholders for effective program pilot testing;
6. Draft activity proposals ensuring all necessary resource requirements are included;
7. Prepare memorandum, correspondence, technical papers, reports, and administrative documents required for program design formulation;
8. Attend and actively participate in inter-agency meetings (internal and external), documenting proceedings, coordinating follow-up actions, and reporting key outcomes to the supervisor;
9. Contribute to the preparation of the WFP and assist in monitoring fund utilization reports to help ensure timely expenditure and compliance with financial guidelines; and
10. Perform other related technical and administrative duties as delegated by the immediate supervisor for efficient operations.
